Funding

New ways of working often require an initial investment before savings are accrued. In times of financial pressures this requires the ability either to secure new sources of funding or use existing funding across organisations more effectively. MGA is able to provide advice and support in the following:

  • Programme and project development, documentation and costing;
  • Bidding for external funds;
  • Programme management;
  • Partnership resources and funding

We also have a strong track record in supporting organisations to secure and manage external sources of funding to support place shaping and service improvement. Sources include Europe, Big Lottery Fund, Learning and Skills Councils, various Government Departments, regional and sub-regional bodies and Local Government.

Evaluation

MGA also provides evaluation services for strategies, funded programmes and projects as well as undertaking service, programme and project reviews.

We bring our approach towards the end user, our expertise in engagement and partnerships, and our knowledge as practitioners to go beyond issues of funding and outputs. We help you understand the impact of a programme or service and set out clear steps as to how it can be improved.

MGA’s research principles concentrate closely on what works, for whom, in what circumstance and why. We focus on evidence, learning and necessary future steps, and advise on good practice in reshaping programmes and improving services.

Local Area Agreement (LAA) Support

Local Area Agreements (LAAs) are a planned and shared commitment between central Government, local authorities and their partners. LAAs can assist with devolution ensuring clarity about local delivery and targets; helping to drive community change and strengthening performance. MGA’s approach to working with local authorities to support the negotiation and implementation of LAAs ensures that a ‘bottom up’ approach is utilised ensuring community priorities are reflected thus strengthening the whole LAA. For example, have pioneered the negotiation of Neighbourhood Area Agreements to ensure neighbourhood targets and delivery are seen as intrinsic to the broader strategic agenda.
